Wonderful

It is on the good side of town and close to a metro stop, although in a hilly area. There is free coffee and pastries in the morning. The place is very spacious with decent beds with tall openings that you can sit up in properly. Blankets are provided. It is calm, not loud, and there is a room on the lower level which can be used at night. There is a functional tv in the main lobby. Many clotheslines for use, albeit a bit useless considering it rains frequently. Everywhere is cleaned frequently. There are individual lockers that roll under the bed and are large enough to drop an entire carryon suitcase in whole (and capable of being locked), so belongings are safe and your items can remain packed for checkout.

There is no sign for the hostel, so was difficult to find as it is behind a fence. Would be improved with laundry service (i.e. a washing machine). Hot water for showers was always out, and I am not entirely sure if it is hooked up for hot water at all. Plumbing in general is par for the area, meaning the pipes cannot handle TP (although thankfully flushes in general).

We liked how friendly the staff and guests were on arriving, and the room we booked was nice and spacious. It was like having an apartment with the added bonus of a comunal area.

Bad service, good place.

Everything was clean and well preserved

After 22:00 there is no hostel worker in the place; literally I had to sleep the first night in the street because no one opened the door for me when I arrived at 23:00. Besides, they hardly answer messages and they do not answer the phone. Moreover, they told me once I was there that I had to look for another hostel for the last night because they were having pest control. They refunded me the first and the last night though.

don’t bother booking private rooms

staff seemed nice but don’t speak English . neighbourhood is safe

booked a private room , should have booked a hotel for same price . Room very basic , old and bad smell . AC doesn’t work . Very noisy the walls are as thin as paper could hear everything next door . people don’t respect the quiet hours . internet doesn’t reach the private room

We booked the room in this hostel just for 2 nights. We came in the evening and had only one full day (next day) for exploring San Paolo. But in the morning we were told that we have to checkut untill 12 a.m. We couldn't understand the reason, because staff is not speaking English and we had to use online translators. Money for the second night were returned to us, but we lost several hours packing our belonings, searching for another hostel and moving there. Finally we had too little time for exploring San Paolo. That's a pitty and we didn't get a respectful reason why we had to check out one day earlier.

it was my second stay beside it’s location and facilities having a new staff for the morning is wonderful improvement! Michelle is such a positive person with good vibe and energy contributing to raising the vibe of the hostel also noticed Coffee and some cake in the morning which is also such pleasant treat.

I think adding electronic check in with code for entering of guests with be much better than dealing with keys.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I booked this hostel 5 weeks in advance because the carnival was going on at the time of my visit and I knew there might be problems getting accommodation on arrival. When I arrived at the hostel, it was locked, without any signs of working. After a while, however, a man peeked out from the terrace, from whom I learned that the hostel is out of order and had been privately rented by a group of people for carnival. Later, when I finally got connected to the internet, I found out that 3 HOURS BEFORE MY ARRIVAL, THE HOSTEL WROTE ME EMAIL THAT THEY HAD TO CANCEL MY BOOKING, COZ THERE IS NO MORE SPACE IN THE HOSTEL. YES, THEY DID NOT BOTHER AT ALL TO WRITE ME PRIOR TO THE DAY OF MY ARRIVAL. ABSOLUTE LAZINESS AND UNPROFESSIONALISM. Fortunately, I found alternative accommodation, but of course at twice the price. So thank you very much ;)
